(def) Mnemonic
Mnemonic -- "A device, such as a formula ..., used as an aid to remembering" - American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language.
When generating your tournament, the actual team that will play in a particular game often depends on which team wins a previous game.
So, in Tournament Time, a fake team name (mnemonic) is created following certain patterns (such as "Loser Game 4", or "Pool 3 - 1st Place", etc ) to identify which team will advance into and replace this fake team name. These mnemonic names are fairly intuitive, so once you are familiar with them, the structure of the tournament should be very apparent.

"I used to dread little league season, with all the hours of paperwork. Trying to schedule all the teams, registering and keeping track of all the players was an absolute nightmare. Your software was an answer to my prayers!
