ScoreBook for Windows Help File
Tutorial Step 5: Game Information
Game Information
All stats are entered into the system using games. Even if you do not plan on using the main scoring screen to enter stats you must still create games.
All game information is edited in the Game Information window. This may be accessed using the 'Game' and 'New/Edit' menu options on the main window.
Unlike the Team Information, League Information, and Player Information windows, the Game Information window lists the games at the bottom instead of to the left. However, the same principles apply. Click on a desired game, make the necessary changes, and press 'Enter' to save the changes.
To add a new game, enter the game date and time, choose the two teams, enter the game location, enter the umpires, and enter any game comments. A valid date, time, and teams are the only required entries. Press 'Enter' and the game should be added to the list at the bottom with a status of 'Sched'. If the game does not appear check the sort options behind the 'Sort' menu item. This item allows you to filter which games should be shown in the listing.
To edit the stats of a game (including adding stats), you must use the Game Information window. To do this, select the desired game from the list then select 'Stats' from the menu. If the game has a status of "Final" then the Stats window will be displayed and you may begin editing. Otherwise, you will be asked if you wish to change the game status to "Final" and create the game stats records for the players on each team. If you continue with this process you will be unable to score the game using the main scoring window.
The 'Reports' menu item contains four options as described below:
- Boxscore: This report will print the game stats for both teams in a boxscore format. You will be prompted for which report to print.
- Playlog: This report prints an English play by play of the selected game. This report my only be printed if the game was scored using the main scoring screen.
- Game: This report prints a game signoff report that has places for the team names, final score, and signature of the umpire. Use this report if your league requires an umpire signature to validate the final score.
- Stats: This option allows you to print the game stats in a
format different than the boxscore.
NOTE: It is recommended that you print a boxscore and play by play after every game is completed. You might put these into a folder or binder.
The 'Edit' menu item contains five options as described below:
- Current: The "Current" game is the game that is currently shown on the main scoring screen. There can only be one "Current" game at any one time. Use this option to either make the selected game the "Current" game or to make the selected game no longer "Current".
- Delete: Use this to delete the selected game and its stats.
- Import: Use this item to bring a game into the system that was previously saved using the Export option.
- Export: This option will save the selected game to another directory on your computer or to a diskette. Use this option to backup a single game for storage or to transfer a game to another computer. This option is extremely helpful for scoring tournaments which use many fields. You may use the import/export processes to transfer games from the many computers at the fields to a central computer containing combined tournament stats for all players.
- Tech Support: This option should only be used by instruction from
a technical support representative from All American SportsWare.

"I used to dread little league season, with all the hours of paperwork. Trying to schedule all the teams, registering and keeping track of all the players was an absolute nightmare. Your software was an answer to my prayers!
