Tutorial Step 4: Team Rosters & Line Up

Team Line Up

If you plan to use the main screen to score games either live or from the book, then you will have to use team Line Ups. This is where you enter in batting order and fielding position information. You can also use the Line Ups window to enter/edit players on the team.

To modify a Line Ups, use the arrow keys to move around the columns and rows.

Change the batting order and fielding position for each player as desired. If a player is not in the batting lineup then make his/her batting position a '0'. The same is true for the fielding position.

To add players to a team simply arrow to a blank row, type in the jersey number, batting position, fielding position, last name, first name, and description (first name and description are optional).

To save changes to the roster, choose the 'Roster\Save' menu option or simply press 'Enter'. The 'Roster' menu item also contains three other options as described below:

• Sort: This option allows the roster to be sorted by player name, batting order, or fielding position. This allows for an easy way to view which batting order position or fielding position you might be missing.
• Reset: Use this option to set all batting positions and fielding positions to zero.
• Default: This option creates a default lineup that is valid to use in a game. It will ensure that there are the required number of batters and fielders, creating players if needed. Use this option when you are playing against a team and do not know the players or the lineup. As you score the game you may come back to the roster and change the players' names and positions.

The 'Stats\View' menu option enables you to view the YTD stats for all players listed in the roster. This is similar to the 'Stats\View' option in the Team Information window.

The 'Player' menu option will take you to the Player Information window for this team. This is also similar to the Team Information window.

The 'Report\Roster' menu option will print a lineup report. This will show the players listed by batting order tne will also show valid substitutions.
