Using SCOREBOOK to enter Stats from previous games

The procedure for entering statistics manually for several teams spanning several years is described below. Scorebook can do this quite simply with a little setup.

1. From the main screen choose "League Information" from the "League" menu. Enter in a league for each season that you wish to keep track of. For instance, 'Fall League 2000', or 'Varsity 2001'. To enter a league, simply click "New", then type the name into the league name field, type the number of innings per game (7 or 9) and click "Save Changes". Click the "Close" when you are finished.

2. To enter the stats for your 2000 team, select "Create/Edit Teams" from the "League" menu. In the window that appears, type in that team's name into the name field followed by a '00' (like Sluggers00), select the league that you entered for this season, and click "Save Changes". The team name will be added to the list on the left side of the window. Click on the team name, then choose "Player Roster" from the "Edit" menu. In the window that appears, add the players who are in the team by typing their information into the fields and clicking "Save Changes" (or pressing "Enter") after each. Click the "X" in the top right when you are finished. Repeat this step for each team you want to track. You can put as many players on each team as you like.

3. Exit back to the main screen, then select "Create / Edit / Select Games..." from the "Game" menu. Type in the date and time, then select your teams. Click "Save" when you are finished and the game will be added to the grid at the bottom of the screen. Click on the game then choose "View/Edit Player Stats" from the "Edit" menu. You will see a message asking if you want to manually enter stats for the game: Click "Yes". You are now ready to add the stats for each player. Click on a player and the statictics for that player will load and can be edited on the right side of the window. Click the "X" to close the window when you are finished. Repeat this step for each game for which you would like to enter statistics.

4. You can print out the stats by choosing "Stats" from the "Reports" menu on the "Game Information" window, or by choosing "Statistics" from the "Reports" menu on the "Team Information" window.
