ScoreBook for Windows Help File

New Season

Every year the time to start over arrives! When starting a new season, all the many statistics from the previous season become essentially useless and need to be removed from Scorebook. (We always recommend making a backup of the old season's data just in case you, unexpectedly, need to get to any old statistics in the future).

(Note: If it is important to you to often be able to produce reports on previous years' activity, you can use history seasons by including the Season Year in the name of each League and each Team. See the section on Past Games and Seasons for more details on history seasons)

Select New Season... from the File menu to get ready for the new year. You are then presented with a number of checkboxes that allow you control over exactly which data is removed:

• Purge All Data
• Purge Leagues
• Purge Teams
• Purge Rosters
• Purge Games
• Purge Plays

Statistics and Events are always cleared out; When you click the check boxes on this window to mark data to be removed, any other areas that rely on that data will also be removed. For example, if you click "Purge Games", "Purge Plays" will also be selected because the plays have no meaning once the games are removed.
