Equipment Inventory

This equipment list displays all the equipment your league owns (in the current season). When you select [Inventory] from the [Equipment] menu, you will be presented with a database list. You can press tab to move from field to field, and edit the Item Number, Description, Total Owned, Number Distributed and Cost Each. "Number On Hand" is calculated from Total Owned and Number Distributed. You can edit each cell in the list as you would a standard spreadsheet.

Usually there is no need to edit the Number Distributed ("Dist"), since this number is adjusted when you allocate or return equipment to/from teams.
If you want to change the Item Number of an equipment item, the number you change it to must be unique (ie. not used by any other equipment item in this season). When you change the number, the new number will be reflected in the "View By Division and Team".

The number field is simply a unique item number given to each type of equipment. For example, if your league assigns bases as item "651," then you can type this into the number field. The item number must be unique. LAS will not let two types of equipment share item numbers.

In the description field you will input a text description of the item type. LAS uses specific keywords to make uniform tracking easier. There are five specific uniform items that LAS can identify: Shirts, Pants, Hats, Socks and Shoes. If you have different prices for these items by size, you can even discriminate the prices by size. To specify uniform item prices by size, enter the key word for the item followed by one space followed by the item size. For example, "Shirts XXL". Then you can specify the price for XXL size shirts. In fact, if you have different prices by color, you may even handle that situation. The same rule applies but the order of the inventory item description values must be maintained. To specify the specific price for red shirts, you will require an entry in the inventory file for each size of that shirt. The item description might look like "Shirts XXL Red". If there is more than one size of red shirt that conforms to this special pricing situation, enter one line for each size; like "Shirts XL Red" to specify the extra large red shirts.

The total amount indicates the total amount of equipment that the league owns including local inventory and the items distributed to each team. The distributed amount need not be filled-in by you, as it is automatically recalculated each time you make any changes to the allocation of equipment. The same holds true for the on hand amount.

In the "cost each" field, enter the single unit cost for each piece of equipment. For example, if pants cost $18 each, you'd enter 18 in this field.

When you are finished editing your equipment list, simply click the X in the upper right of the list window or press the key to close the list. LAS will record your changes.

LAS comes with a preliminary list of equipment that is typical for most leagues to help you get started. The equipment list differs based on the sport you are running. You may change this list in any way you wish and add, delete and change items or descriptions as necessary. This will help later to determine the value of your inventory for insurance reasons, for budgeting and for financial reporting.

The following commands are to be used for finding/adding/removing equipment inventory items:

INS	Insert new item in the list.
DEL	Delete the highlighted item from the list.
ESC	Quit processing on this list and return to the calling menu.
PgUp/PgDn	To move a screen at a time in the list.
^PgUp	Go to top of list.
^PgDn	Go to the bottom of the list.
