Start New Season

The Start New Season function allows you to turn over the data to start a new year. This basically means that all the currently registered players and members are automatically unregistered.

You can customize the tasks it performs for you:

• Delete Inactive Personnel (after X years) Any personnel who have not registered for the number of years you established (See Season Setup) will be deleted and a clean slate is set up for the new year.
• Clear Umpires
• Clear Staff - If last season's list of umpires and/or staff have no meaning for this season, check these options.
• Advance Grade - If you turn this option on, each player's grade will be advanced by one, AND each members Years of Service record will be advanced by one. If your are starting another season in the same school year (ie. Spring Ball after Fall Ball) you probably don't want to check this box.
• Clear Registration # This will clear all the league registration number (which may have been automatically generated by LAS; See Season Setup) from all the players. New numbers can be generated or entered as each player is registered in the new season.
• Keep History Info & Re-Init You can now select to keep the current season as History information (if you purchased multi-season support) while creating a new season for the new year.
• Re-Init This will re-initialize this season. The only way to Undo this operation is by restoring from a recent backup.

Make sure you have a good backup of your data before you execute this function since this will actually delete some information that will be impossible to recover without a good backup.

Even when keeping a history season, you MUST backup in case something unforseen occurs that interrupts the process in the middle. Without a backup, all your data could be lost!
