League Administration Software Help File
Users & Passwords
New in Version 15: LAS Now Supports User Name + Password Access Rights! Once an administrator password is set, you can create user names for individuals to use, and assign a password and access level for each season to that user. Note: The "master password" (see below) for each access level still works, if you leave the user name blank when logging in, and setting one or more "blank passwords" (see below) still lets you log in without any password, so be sure to first set all the "Mast passwords" if you intend to use User Names as your access control.
There are four levels of access:
- Administrator - Everything (including Multi-Season reports). There is one administrator password for all of LAS.
- Financial - Read/Write data, and Read/Write Financial Info (also called "Full"). Each season can have a different Financial password... when a new season is created with Start New Season, the previous season's passwords are duplicated for the new season. If you create a new season using Manage Seasons, the new season's passwords start out blank.
- Normal - Read/Write data. No access to Financial Info. This password is specific to each season.
- Read Only -View data Only. No access to Financial Info. This password is specific to each season.
Overview
To set the "master password" for each level: In the main menu, go to [ File --> Administration --> Users & Passwords ], or [ File --> Utilities --> Users & Passwords ]. You may be required to enter the old password before you can change it to a new password:
- With Administrator Access, you can set any level password, but must know the administrator's password in order to change it.
- With Financial Access, you can change the Read Only, Normal & Financial passwords, but must know what they are.
- With Read Only or Normal Access, you cannot change any passwords.
REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORDS! Once Passwords are set, no one (including technical support) can see what they are.
Each level of access can have a password, or can have the password left blank. If any of the passwords are left blank, then, at LAS's Login Window, simply pressing "Enter" or clicking "OK" will automatically log-in at the highest level that has a blank password. This is a good way to provide "Read Only" acces to everyone, but restrict the ability to edit to only people to whom you give the higher-level passwords.
You can set several of the passwords the same: For example, if you set the same password for Read Only, Normal, and Financial, then when someone enters that password, they will log in with the highest available access for that password: Financial. This is useful to avoid having to remember multiple passwords, but to make sure that some password is required to log in. If you are planning on using ONLY User Name + Password security, then you can set all access level master passwords to be the same as the Administrator Access password.

"I used to dread little league season, with all the hours of paperwork. Trying to schedule all the teams, registering and keeping track of all the players was an absolute nightmare. Your software was an answer to my prayers!
