Glossary

• Chartering Organization -- This is an organization such as "Little League" or "Babe Ruth League" that issues charters to individual sports leagues. We have desiged LAS so that it provides valuable tools for your league, no matter which Chartering Organization you are part of. We also included many features that are specifically useful to leagues charted by a particular organization.
• LAS -- This is the acronym for League Administration Software, the flagship product of All American SportsWare.
• League -- The primary unit of organization if LAS is the "League". LAS is typically licensed for use by a single league. That one organization has a name, often called the "League Name", that will show up on all reports. See League Settings for what league-level settings you can configure in LAS.
  One league may manage multiple concurrent seasons, which may each be a different sport.

• Properties -- See Settings
• Season -- A Season basically is describing the period of time for which a group of player registrations is valid. For details on what information you can configure for each season, see Season Setup.
  Depending on your license, you may be able to manage multiple seasons in LAS, or you may be limited to managing a single season at a time. The multi-season capability is useful for managing concurrent, but separate, seasons (such as Baseball and Softball), or overlapping, somewhat concurrent seasons (such as Baseball and Soccer), or simply for maintaing a history of past seasons.
  Note: Even the Single Season license of LAS is capable of managing more than one season of play. It simply limits you to managing one season "at a time." For example, when the "Spring-Summer 2005" season ended, a new season could be started for "Fall-Winter 2005" using the same copy of LAS.
• Settings -- Many items in LAS have "Settings" or "Properites" that you can change. You can often get to these by right-clicking the item in the League Explorer window, then clicking "Properties".
