League Web Manager Help File
League Web Manager Settings
Web Page Generator Settings
This dialog box allows you to completely configure the "League Explorer" style webpage that League Web Manager will generate for you. All the levels in the tree that can be created are the following:
- Season(s) -- Within your League you can have several Seasons (if you own a Multi-Season version of LAS) Each season has it's own name, eg. "1998 Fall Baseball" or "1997 Winter Hockey".
- Division(s) -- In each Season, you have multiple Divisions.
- Team(s) -- Each Division has a few Teams.
- Staff & Players -- Each Team has Staff and Players.
- Team(s) -- Each Division has a few Teams.
- Division(s) -- In each Season, you have multiple Divisions.
When you "Generate" the web page, it will create a whole bunch of files in a subdirectory called LEXPLORE under your LAS subdirectory (usually C:\LAS\LEXPLORE).
In order to have a League Web Page on the Internet, all you then need to do is transfer ALL these files to your web host so that people on the Web can see them.
We also strongly urge you, however, to consult your chartering organization to make sure that you set your LExplore generation options in a way that complies with their guidelines.
Settings and their Meanings:
League Data to Include: -- This determines what will show up in the levels of the tree.
- Include Staff On Teams -- Mark this checkbox and the staff (coaches, managers, team mothers, etc.) will show up in the tree under the Team Name
- Include Officials -- Mark this checkbox to include an entry "Officials" (or "Umpires", or whatever you called it in "Season Setup") in the tree under the Division Name. The Details for this entry will list the Officials in the division, and each ones Certification and Expiration Date.
- Include Players On Teams -- Mark this checkbox and the players' names will show up in the tree under the Team Name
Little League, and most other Youth Organizations, recommend that you DO NOT check this box.
- Include Team Schedules -- Mark this checkbox and each team's Details will include a schedule including only games that team plays in.
- Include Division Schedules -- Mark this checkbox and each division's Details will include a schedule including only games that teams from this division play in.
- Include Season Schedules -- Mark this checkbox and the Season Details page will include the entire schedule for the season.
- Dynamic HTML Tree -- Mark this check box to use Dynamic HTML to produce the League Explorer tree. This works in Internet Explorer v3 and newer; In other browsers (Netscape, Mozilla, etc) the tree will always appear fully expanded. If you choose this option, the next two options ("Show Full Tree at All Levels" and "Show Item Details in Right Frame") are disabled, since the first doesn't apply, and the second works best if it is enabled.
- Show Full Tree at All Levels -- Mark this checkbox and, as a viewer drills down the League Explorer tree, all items on expanded levels above them are visible.
Unmark this checkbox, and only the currently opened item in each level is visible. This has the benefit that the viewer won't have to scroll the TREE pane very much.
- Show Item Details in Right Frame -- If you unmark this checkbox, frames are NOT employed for displaying the several panes for your league webpage. The initial page ("index.php") is the fully closed tree-view, and as viewers drill through it, it takes up the whole browser's view.
When the viewer selects a Division's Details (clicks on the division name) the Details page replaces the tree. The viewer then has to click "Back" in his browser, or the link "Back to Homepage" to return to the tree
- Season Popup -- Here you can select the season to generate, or you can select "All Seasons". The only detriment to "All Seasons" is that it produces A LOT of files, which can take a long time to upload to your web server.
Files to Include:
( Any of these can be a path to a file on your hard drive, or an URL on the internet. If it's a path to a file on your hard drive, the file will be copied into the "lexplore\" subdirectory to be uploaded with the rest of the web page. If it's a URL it must begin with "http://" or contain a forwardslash ("/"), so that League Explorer knows it's a URL. If it is a URL, the reference will be put into the web page as is with no validation...make sure you typed it correctly! )
- Title Background -- Pick a GIF or JPG file off your hard drive and it will be copied into the "lexplore" subdirectory and used as the background for the TITLE pane
- Tree Background -- Pick a GIF or JPG file to be used as the background for the TREE pane
- Tree Item -- This graphic will be shown to the left of any non-expandable items in the tree.
- Expand Tree -- This graphic will be shown to the left of any expandable branch of the tree. Click this graphic to expand the branch. If no graphic is specified here, the "+" character will be used.
- Collapse Tree -- This graphic will be shown to the left of any expanded branch of the tree. Click this graphic to collapse the branch. If no graphic is specified here, the "-" character will be used.
- Detail Background -- Pick a GIF or JPG file to be used as the background for the DETAILS pane
- Ad frame HTML -- Pick an HTM file from your hard drive, or type a URL, and this page will show up as the fourth pane of your league webpage page.
If you turned frames off, then this must either be blank, or be an HTM file on your local hard drive. The contents between <BODY> and </BODY> will be extracted from this file and inserted at the bottom of each League, Season, Division and Team details page that are generated. (note: if there is not "BODY" tag, the file's entire contents will be inserted.)
- Initial HTML -- If you select a page here, it replaces the League Details on your league webpage.
See Initial HTML for more about this initial page.
- Report Queue -- This feature allows you to include any reports from LAS, and any HTML files of your choice, on any of your lExplore web pages.
See Report Queue for more details.

"I used to dread little league season, with all the hours of paperwork. Trying to schedule all the teams, registering and keeping track of all the players was an absolute nightmare. Your software was an answer to my prayers!
