GameTime Scheduler for Windows Help File

Tutorial Step 3 -- Generate Team Pairings

Tutorial Step 3 -- Generate Team Pairings

Each division in this schedule is listed in the grid, and the number of "games per team" (also called "sets") is listed in the column next to it. This defaults to one Round Robin, but you will usually want to at least double it. The best schedules are when the number of games per team is a multiple of the number of sets in a round robin. So click in this column, and use the spinner to change the "9" to "18".

You can also choose to generate Back to Back Sets, Double Headers, and a Practice Schedule. And, if your division has an odd number of teams, you can choose what to do with bye games. For now, don't change any of these settings.

Now GameTime knows enough about your schedule to create the team pairings. The pairs will be created when you click on "Next ® ". The Pair Creation Progress window looks like this:

(If, when creating schedules in the future, you expect that you will want to change the pairings by hand, or just view GameTime's detailed analysis of the pairs, you can click "Generate Pairs", then click "View / Edit Pairs". Click here to see what the pair editor looks like. If you do this, the pairs will NOT be re-generated when you click on "Next")

Click to go on to the next step.

"I used to dread little league season, with all the hours of paperwork. Trying to schedule all the teams, registering and keeping track of all the players was an absolute nightmare. Your software was an answer to my prayers!
