GameTime Scheduler for Windows Help File
Working with a Master Database
Some organizations have very complex scheduling needs where the same fields are used by many different teams, all playing during the same dates, but not all playing each other.
A schedule like this must be created in smaller, more manageable pieces. Usually the teams can be grouped by age, or grade, or by location into what are referred to in GameTime as divisions where the teams within a division mainly only play each other (Though inter-division games are possible between pairs of divisions).
The master database is the place where you can coordinate all these different needs. This database will keep track of when fields are available, what times are used, and when teams are scheduled.
The best way to start is by using League Administration Software to setup all your divisions and teams. Next, define all your fields in the master database browser. Finally, go through each division and select the field times to use for it, and create its schedule. Polish the schedule until it is satisfactory, and then choose "Add to Master" from the schedule editor / report designer to add it into the master database.
You can also use the Master Schedule to create Hybrid Schedules. Basically, this simply means that you generate the schedule for a particular division (or multiple divisions) as smaller chunks, coordinating each chunk with the master and adding it to the master after it is generated. See the section on Game Ratio to see how to create schedule chunks that contain only inter-division games.
