14.00-14.09: Why Can`t I open the ``Setup Web Registration`` window in WebManager?

Added 10/10/2007

In order to comply with Windows Vista security requirements, we moved the location where LAS stores all plug-in files. Unfortunately, this change interacted unfavorably with the way that League Web Manager installs its data files.

After many install - uninstall - rebuild - reinstall cycles, we have ironed out these incompatibilities.

To resolve this problem, please follow these steps:

  1. Open LAS and Uninstall the "League Web Manager" plug-in:
    1. Go to [ File -- Utilities -- Plug-ins ]
    2. Locate "League Web Manager" in the "Plug-in List", and click on it once.
    3. Click the "Uninstall" button at the top of the list.
  2. Exit LAS
  3. Download and install the latest build of LAS v14 from here:
    Download LAS
  4. After LAS has installed, download and install the latest build of League Web Manager v14 from here:
    Download WebMan
  5. You're Done! Web Manager should work properly now.

Alternatively, you could try this workaround:
Copy your "WEBMAN.APP" file from the LAS data folder to the LAS program folder. (You need "Administrator" rights on your computer to do this.)

You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Open LAS
  2. Go to [ File -- Utilities -- Tech Support Tools -- Open Data Folder ]
(a "Windows Explorer" window should appear)
  3. Now, Go to [ File -- Utilities -- Tech Support Tools -- Open Program Folder ]
(a second "Windows Explorer" window should appear)
  4. Locate the file called "WEBMAN.APP" in the first explorer window, and right-click it, then choose "Copy". (Note: If you see several icons named "WEBMAN" and none of them has the ".app" file name extension, then your computer is configured to hide the extension for 'known file types'. In this case, to tell the files apart, follow the instructions here. )
  5. Go to the second Explorer window, and choose "Paste" from the "Edit" menu.
  6. In LAS, now go to [ File -- Utilities -- Reindex Data ]. Note: You must reindex in order for LAS to make use of this new copy of the WEBMAN.APP file!

"I used to dread little league season, with all the hours of paperwork. Trying to schedule all the teams, registering and keeping track of all the players was an absolute nightmare. Your software was an answer to my prayers!
